On July 30th, Little Wolf will be sharing their music and narrative at our next Seattle Chapel Sessions. We were able to ask a few questions on their narrative, music, and creative process. 

How would you describe your style?

We’re currently working on that.

At what point / how did the vision for the band come to life??

I first heard Josh play at an open mic about 15 years ago. I was immediately a fan. We started collaborating a bit 4 years ago and it progressively grew so we decided to make it official.

Do you remember the moment you knew you wanted to make music in this capacity?

It is something we can’t not do. I don’t remember when it started, but it’s been a long time.

What are your major influences for songwriting?

Mountains, Rivers, Lakes, Whiskey, fear, family, religion, Lines of all sorts (birth, life, death, fences, borders, calendars, time, space, states, horizontal and vertical. Etc.

What do you find to be the biggest challenge of the songwriting process?

Over thinking.

Your music speaks a lot on relationships, is there particular influences from your life when creating? Or are they more so metaphor?

I would say a bit of both.

How do you think your music has evolved since you first began making music?

Well, I think we’ve both grown and changed a lot since we began making music and the music continually grows and changes with us.

Which song do you take the most pride in lyrically / musically, and why?

I honestly can’t answer this question. My appreciation for the various songs we play changes on a regular basis.

What has been your greatest joy through your journey thus far with the band?

For me it’s been getting to spend creative and performance time with one of my favorite musicians/friends.

What’s Next?

Definitely building and recording more songs and hopefully touring after that.  

The Seattle Chapel Sessions was created to provide a space for local artists to share their stories through music and narrative. Hosted in “chapels” across the Seattle area, the “chapel” offers a unique and intimate experience for the artists and audience alike.

Giving the artist enough time to share in between their set, than allowing for a Q&A allows for the artist and audience to explore music, their creative process, and humanities in creative community.
